‘PAPER’ APP
Facebook had a short-lived partner app called “Paper” which was intended to curate the things you want most from Facebook in a much more handsomely-designed UI.
W+K worked directly with product designer Mike Matas (who also designed UIs for Nest, Apple iOS and more) to launch the app with product demo films and a website built entirely of beautifully-shot video sprites. The communications we produced were meant to be as streamlined and artful as the app itself while showing users exactly how it worked.
It was a highly-technical project that involved sourcing key pieces of a UI as it was still being developed and refined. We went and worked at Facebook’s headquarters with their product team to ensure all of our materials were a perfect reflection of the actual technology.
The Paper website was built entirely with video sprites and scrolled seamlessly from end to end as a user poked through the apps features
