GALAXY NOTE8 TIMES SQUARE TAKEOVER
Samsung bought 47 billboards in Times Square when the Galaxy Note8 phone launched. W+K was tapped to fill those boards with some compelling marketing materials.
In typical W+K fashion we added a few steps: first we commissioned nine illustrators to create artwork inspired by the phone’s stylus, then we animated those illustrations, and then we picked our three favorite animations and versioned them to sync up across the 47 boards spanning seven-odd blocks of New York City.
The results were 141 unique animations that change the color of the skyline in midtown Manhattan (which we know because we watched from the rooftop of our hotel later that night).
